Telluride Gay Ski Week – February 28 - March 7

Gay Ski Week is one of the most anticipated social weeks of the winter. It includes daily and nightly events, themed gatherings, DJs, drag brunches, and group ski meetups. In past years, headliners have included nationally recognized performers and DJs that bring a lively, communal energy to the downtown venues and bars.

This event has a reputation for being curated, friendly, and welcoming - not overcrowded - which is part of what makes it a favorite on west coast ski calendars.

The 2026 lineup includes Gus Kenworthy, Joe Dombrowski, Bears in Space, Aaron Clark, Jeffrey Sfire, Polyglamorous, Star Amerasu, Por Detroit and so many more. Check out their program!

Inside tip: Staying in Telluride town is ideal because most events and nightlife are walkable from central condos and town rentals. Mountain Village properties also work well if you don’t mind a quick gondola ride home.

Skijoring and Winter Celebration – 14 - 15 March

Skijoring is a fast-paced winter sport where skiers are pulled by horses across a snow track, navigating jumps and obstacles. This is uniquely Telluride and draws crowds who want to experience something different from the usual ski routine.
Last year it was a blast! The vibe is lively, with food vendors, drink tents, and a great community feel. The organisers have just unanimously voted to bring it back in 2026 and we are delighted! This should be a good reason to plan a weekend around this event!

Insider tip: The event is free but the best viewing spots fill early, so plan to arrive ahead of the main races and bring warm layers.

ZOSO Live at the Sheridan Opera House - March 14

If you want one night in March to plan around, this is it.

ZOSO, one of the best known Led Zeppelin tribute acts, is playing the historic Sheridan Opera House on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The Telluride.com event listing confirms the date and time, and the Opera House is one of the most iconic venues in town.

What makes this worth it: the Opera House is tiny by concert standards. It feels close, loud, and electric. If you love classic rock, it is the perfect Telluride night out.

Burlesque Week at the Sheridan Opera House – March 20 - 21 and March 26–28

Burlesque Week returns to the historic Sheridan Opera House with two distinct programs that lean into Telluride’s creative and slightly rebellious side.

Cheap Thrills (March 20–21) revives the spirit of Telluride’s old vaudeville era with burlesque, comedy, acrobatics, and variety performances featuring the graduating class of the 2026 Beginning Burlesque program. It is playful, theatrical, and very local.

The House of Shimmy Shake (March 26–28) celebrates 15 years of body positivity and female empowerment with a throwback showcase of themed routines and audience favorites from years past.

These shows are intimate and often sell out, thanks to the Opera House’s small capacity and loyal local following.

Insider tip: Buy tickets early and plan dinner reservations in advance. A classic March evening in Telluride looks like this: ski during the day, early dinner on Main Street, then walk to the Opera House for a show. Staying in town makes the entire night seamless.
